Regional Samaúma offers a guided group Roda de Choro course in New York City, designed to immerse musicians in the choro playing style while fostering community through shared musical practice. This course promotes both the repertoire and spirit of choro as a living tradition with deep historical roots.
Led by instructors Fernanda Silveira (cavaquinho), Vitor Sampaio (7-string guitar), and Fabio Oliveira (pandeiro), the course meets weekly and includes hands-on instruction in ensemble settings typical of a Roda de Choro.
